Definition and Concept of Sociology of Education

EMILE DURKHEIM (1858-1917),Who is regarded as ''father of sociology of education' define sociological of education as a '' a systematic study sociological perspective.'' The term 'social perspective' stresses the social context in which people live such as society. In which 'society' is a group of people who share a certain culture and a territory and "PERSPECTIVE" is view of the world  and it is refereed to us social imagination.
In the other words, sociology of education may be defined as the systematic and objective study of human society and social interaction. in simple words, it is the study of the relations between education and society.

DEFINITION :-
Encyclopedia.com ," sociology of education is a philosophical as well as sociological concept denoting ideologies, curricula and pedagogical techniques of inculcation and management of knowledge and the social reproduction of personalities and cultures.''

Difference between 
..Educational sociology e.s is by definition a discipline which studies education sociologically with premise that it recognises education as a social fact, a process and an institution, having a social function and being determined socially.

..Sociology of education it is defined as the scientific analysis of the social  process and social patterns involved in the educational system.

CONCEPT:- 
SOCIOLOGY IN EDUCATION is a discipline of applied social science that use sociological knowledge in educational research.i.e
OTTAWAY(1962), Sociology of education is a social study and in so for as its method is scientific, its a branch of social science. It is concerned with educational aims, methods, institutions,administration and curricula in relation to the economic, political, religious, social and cultural forces of the society in which they function.
