IMPORTANCE OF ASSESSMENT & PURPOSE OF ASSESSMENT

Assessment is a critical step in learning process.

1. It affects many factors of education. including students grades, placement and advancement as well as curriculum, instructional needs and school funding. it determines whether or not the course's learning objectives have been met.
2. Helps students to learn.
3. it helps to motivate students in a way if students know they are doing poorly, they may begin to work harder.
4. It also helps teacher to see if is their teaching has been effective.
5. Helps in giving feedback providing timely feedback which students pay attention to.
6. Capturing student time and attention.

 PURPOSE OF ASSESSMENT:-

• To assist students learning.
• To identify students strengths & weaknesses.
• To assess & improve the effectiveness of curricular programmes.
• To assess & improve teaching effectiveness.
• To provide data that assist in decision-making.
